Nicolò Matteo specialises in criminal law, with particular experience in business and corporate criminal law, criminal tax law, the administrative liability of legal entities under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, and criminal proceedings arising from business and professional activities.
He advises and represents companies, entrepreneurs, directors, executives, professionals, and individuals at every stage of criminal proceedings, from preliminary investigations through to trials and appeals. He acts both for individuals under investigation or facing criminal charges and for victims and businesses harmed by criminal conduct. He also assists companies involved in proceedings under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, advising on matters concerning the liability of legal entities and their governing bodies.
His practice encompasses the principal areas of corporate, tax, and insolvency-related criminal law, as well as offences against the public administration, property offences, and workplace health and safety offences. He also handles proceedings involving seizure orders, personal and asset-related precautionary measures, preventive measures, and the enforcement of criminal sentences. In addition, he prepares individual applications to the European Court of Human Rights concerning the protection of rights guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights.
Throughout his career, he has gained experience advising businesses operating across a wide range of industries, including logistics and transport, healthcare, insurance, construction, retail distribution, professional services, and public procurement. He has handled proceedings involving significant financial, corporate, and organisational matters.
