Giovanni specialises in domestic and international tax law, with extensive experience in tax advisory, tax litigation, and tax planning for businesses and individuals.
He advises Italian and multinational companies, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals on a broad range of tax matters, assisting Clients with both ongoing advisory work and extraordinary transactions, dealings with the tax authorities, and pre-litigation and litigation proceedings. His practice encompasses key areas of international taxation, corporate taxation, VAT, customs law, and wealth planning, with an approach focused on tax risk prevention and the development of strategic solutions.
His established experience in international taxation is further enhanced by his qualification as a Certified Professional for the Middle East, awarded under the certification programme of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the United Arab Emirates (IICUAE). The programme is dedicated to professionals specialising in advising businesses operating between Italy and the Gulf countries.
Throughout his career, he has gained significant experience advising companies across a wide range of industries, including Energy & Renewables, Real Estate, Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, and Luxury. This has enabled him to develop particular expertise in managing transactions characterised by complex regulatory frameworks and an increasingly international dimension.
Academic Activities
Alongside his professional practice, Giovanni maintains close ties with academia and regularly contributes articles and publications on tax matters to specialist journals and legal newspapers. He is also the editor of Tax Atlas UAE, a publication dedicated to taxation in the United Arab Emirates and developed in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE (IICUAE).
He regularly delivers professional training and speaks at conferences on tax law and corporate taxation. He is a member of the Tax Law Commission of the European Lawyers’ Union (U.A.E.).
